We missed the Duke. Big time.

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass 2019, Towers of Gold Stage, Robert Plant
A year of fear and rule changes threatened the fun. Happy to say that it wasn’t as bad as thought. I had a meltdown when the announced it but realized I overreacted. Glad security was as cool as the festival is.
Friday at Swan was chill. Burke was at day care so it was like Pre 2017. Chill. We missed Uncle Brian big time this year. But was there in spirit. (Photo project incoming) Also joined by Randy who was great addition to the HSB crew. Hope he returns in 2020 and beyond…
My first time ever not feeling quite safe was Saturday at Gold Stage. We grabbed a spot by the fence and there was no paths out. No clear way to leave if need be. So much so the fence behind us was basically slowly picked apart and the forbidden are, now open for others. Mainly bathrooms users.
Sunday we posted at Rooster on the hill per usual. Very chill day with the Infamous Stringdusters crushing it. Chill day on the hill. Blessed with a visit from Jax and the De Hope’s.
All in all, such a great time. Thank you Warren and the Hellman family.
Birthdays Weekend
Took Burke to the CA Academy of Sciences to play around, which he loves. Then went to a going away party for a friend’s newly graduated kiddo off to School. Then home for some family time. My mom and I share Birthday weeks. So we try to get the family together for a dinner or something to celebrate the day. Sadly I didn’t take that many photos of the BBQ we had, due to being busy cooking and such but got one of the special lady and her special guy. A good day it was.
Big Basin Redwoods State Park
Boulder Creek, California
A few years back, when there was no kiddos we took a camping trip to Big Basin State Park. It was an amazing time but had some unfortunate luck and it became a memory many will never forget while many will try hard to forget. Its a great place so a few years later with kiddos some of us headed back with some other friends to come this time. While there may have been similar experiences in some regards itt was an overall great trip. Besides the few kid freak outs, we all had a blast.
